TUTORING
· Mission: To provide skills in reading (fluency, word recognition and comprehension) and basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide) plus a desire to learn
· Hours: Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 PM
· One-on-One Tutoring by volunteers, including many educators
· Group Tutoring – 3 to 5 students per group and led by paid staff
· Students are between the ages of 5 and 13 years and attend schools designated as needing improvement
· Program is certified as Supplemental Education Services (SES) provider
· Pre-, Mid-, and Post-Year testing to determine student’s academic needs and progress
· Student Learning Plan is approved by both school and parent, and Family Coordinators work with parents to provide healthy home environment
· Daily snack is provided
· Tutoring by computer, homework room, and transportation from school to home are also provided
· Character development including Christian values and beliefs, self-esteem, healthy decision-making, and respect
