Here’s just the volunteer opportunity you have been thinking about, praying about and your family and friends have said you would be perfect doing.
We would like to invite you to consider becoming “Hands of Grace”. You have skills and Grace has many needs to keep our momentum going.
Hands of Grace is what we call the wonderful people who give of their time and resources to make Grace United Community Ministries the effective, growing blessing it is in the NE KC, MO community.
Because of your generous support and giant prayers and our awesome staff, Grace is growing! Our client base is growing! The number of programs are growing! The Board of Directors is growing! And now we need our volunteer base to get growing as well! That is where you and those you know come in.
Here are the latest openings we have for kind, caring and loving people (yes, that is you) who like to help those who just need a hand up, not a hand out:
Here’s just the volunteer opportunity you have been thinking about, praying about and your family and friends have said you would be perfect doing.
Like it clean, neat and organized? Does filing and de-piling bring you satisfaction. Are you an office treasurer hunter? Seeking 1-3 volunteers to help in the Grace office filing, sorting, pitching files, books and stuff. Helping with preparing materials to be used in the After School Tutoring program, entering data, assisting the Executive Director … and the list goes on and on. Can be a one time commitment or regular few hours per week. We will fit around your schedule.
Rather crunch numbers than chips? You can get your monthly crunch fix at Grace keeping our books in order, bills paid and deposits made. You will work directly with the Executive Director as well as the Treasurer of Grace. Now that’s a perk you do not get every day. Commitment of 1-3 times per month. Part of the time can be from the comfort of your own home.
Ok so no jokes here, just great results. If you’ve been a fan of Grace, you already know that one of the great volunteer opportunities at Grace is being a one-on-one tutor in the After School Tutoring program. One afternoon (or more) a week, from 3.30-5.30 tutoring grade school age children in reading and math. You can have a tremendous impact on the lives of inner city, elementary school kids. We’ve got the system down pat and your time will be spent efficiently and productively.
Have a heart for making sure the hungry have a meal? Grace provides weekly meals to those needing nutritious food to help them through the weekend. Meal teams are self-formed and bring the complete, ready to eat meal and drink to Grace to serve from our kitchen. Place settings and cups provided by Grace. This is a meaningful and moving group event. Perfect for family, neighbor, Church or civic groups.
If volunteering is not your thing, we have plenty of “donations spots” available too! We realize that some of us like to serve and some of us like to give. We are an equal opportunity resource receiver. Please feel free to donate if you wish. Click here to go to the donation page.
Driving solo keeping you from saying yes, then join a volunteer car pool. Save gas money and make new friends! There are even tasks that could be done from home.
May one of our staff members or volunteers give you a call to talk about how you might become one of the Hands of Grace? To discuss any of these great volunteer opportunities, please email us at: [email protected] or call (816) 231-5745.
We need you and we know you would be blessed too. Please feel free to pass this note along to your friends and family too.
Thank you,
Your Friends of Grace
