We’d like to invite you to get involved and make a difference. If you’ve been thinking about ways to serve, this is your opportunity.
Volunteers are the heart of Grace United Community Ministries, helping us grow and serve the NE Kansas City, MO community. Thanks to your support, prayers, and our amazing staff, Grace is expanding—our client base, programs, and Board of Directors are all growing. Now, we need more volunteers to keep that momentum going.
If you’re someone who wants to help those in need and provide a hand up, we’d love for you to join us. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities waiting for caring people like you.

After-School Tutors

One of our most rewarding volunteer opportunities is serving as a one-on-one tutor in our After School Tutoring program. For just one afternoon (or more) a week, from 3:30 to 5:30, you'll help elementary school children with reading and math.

Whether you're a long-time supporter or just learning about us, your time can have a lasting impact on the lives of kids in our community. We've got a proven system in place to ensure your time is spent efficiently and making a real difference in their education.

Saturday Work Crew

We operate out of two beautiful, century-old buildings, each over 120 years old, and keeping them in working order is a constant labor of love. That's where you come in.

Are you handy with tools? Know a thing or two about plumbing, roofing, electrical work? Just willing to lend a hand? We'd love to have you join us.

Our Saturday crew meets every week at Grace to take on a wide range of projects, including repairing soffits and radiators, electrical work, plumbing, painting and tiling, lawn mowing and much more.

Whether you can come weekly, monthly, or just once in a while, your time and skills make a real difference and are truly appreciated. Come be a part of preserving these historic spaces for generations to come!
